Alabama baseball ace pitcher Luke Holman enters transfer portal


Labama baseball keeps seeing a portion of its best players enter the exchange gateway.

Right-handed pitcher Luke Holman is the most recent, he affirmed to The Tuscaloosa News.

Holman was Alabama’s pro pitcher this previous season, finishing with a 3.67 ERA and a 7-4 record in more than 15 starts. In more than 81 innings pitched, Holman surrendered 54 hits, 33 acquired runs, strolled 31, and struck out 87.

The sophomore turned into a staple on the hill after he went 0-2 with a 5.68 ERA while functioning as a reliever as a first-year recruit in 2022.

The fresh insight about Holman entering the entry arose that very day when Colby Shelton, Alabama’s grand slam pioneer, reported he was moving to Florida. Shelton hit 25 grand slams as a rookie in 2023.

That leaves new mentor Loot Vaughn without two key pieces. Vaughn was named the lead trainer on June 12 after filling in as the lead trainer at Maryland. Break lead trainer Jason Jackson remained on staff as partner lead trainer after beforehand filling in as Alabama’s pitching mentor.
